Peanut / Groundnut Chutney

Here i am with a chutney recipe with our favourite peanuts ......

What We Need:

Peanuts: 2cups
Green Chillies: 3no
Mustard seeds: 1/4 spn
Jeera: 1/2 spn
Urad dal: 1 spn
Chanadal: 1spn

A few more of mustard seeds, jeera, urad dal, split red chillies, 1 spn oil for tempering.

Salt to your taste.

How To Do:


  • Fry peanuts separately and peel off the layer, this is optional either you can use along with outer layer also.
  • Grease the pan with oil and fry mustard seeds, jeera, chana dal, urad dal, split green chillies. 
  • Grind all these together along with salt and by adding a little water for making to paste.
  • Do tempering with the tempering ingredients, adjust chutney with water according to your consistency.


Serve with any breakfast item as chutney, i have added a few cilantro leaves on top of it .... we love to have this chutney specially with dosas,  idlies,  garelu or south indian donuts,  Pullattu .....

  2. simple and delicious peanut chutney.I usually end up adding fresh coconut while grinding to enhance its taste.
