How To Do:

  • In a pan heat oil splutter mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves now add pean nuts, chana dal, urad dal and let them fry. Fry finely chopped green chillies and lengthwise chopped onions until they are transculent.
  • Add chopped carrot, potatoe and let them fry.
  • In the meanwhile powder cinamom stick and cloves.
  • Ones the vegetables are soft add 4 cups of water and let it come to boil, add powdered cinamom & cloves, adjust salt to your taste
  • Now add suji to the boiling water by continuously stirring water with a spatula, cook by covering with a lid on top of it until water evaporates.

Here is my Upma with masala flavour, this is almost the same as our regular upma except that we added cinamom and cloves for flavour. Serve hot as it is or with any chutney, pickle or even with sugar too .......
