Peanut / Groundnut Chutney

Here i am with a chutney recipe with our favourite peanuts ......

What We Need:

Peanuts: 2cups
Green Chillies: 3no
Mustard seeds: 1/4 spn
Jeera: 1/2 spn
Urad dal: 1 spn
Chanadal: 1spn

A few more of mustard seeds, jeera, urad dal, split red chillies, 1 spn oil for tempering.

Salt to your taste.

How To Do:


  • Fry peanuts separately and peel off the layer, this is optional either you can use along with outer layer also.
  • Grease the pan with oil and fry mustard seeds, jeera, chana dal, urad dal, split green chillies. 
  • Grind all these together along with salt and by adding a little water for making to paste.
  • Do tempering with the tempering ingredients, adjust chutney with water according to your consistency.


Serve with any breakfast item as chutney, i have added a few cilantro leaves on top of it .... we love to have this chutney specially with dosas,  idlies,  garelu or south indian donuts,  Pullattu .....

Suji Upma - Masala version

Here i am with a breakfast item which is a regular and fast and easy recipe with a little variation of adding a a little masala to this so that every one likes it ........

What We Need:

Suji -  2 cups
Water - 4cups
Oil - 1 tspn
Onion - 1 no medium size
Green Chillies - 3 no
Carrot - 1 no
Potatoe - 1 no
Pea nuts - 3 tspn or a fist full you can adjust according to your taste
Chana dal - 1 spn
Urad dal - 1 spn
Mustard seeds - 1/4 spn
Jeera - 1/2 spn
Curry leaves - 2 springs
Cinamom - 1/2 inch piece
Cloves - 3no

Salt to your taste

How To Do:


  • In a pan heat oil splutter mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves now add pean nuts, chana dal, urad dal and let them fry. Fry finely chopped green chillies and lengthwise chopped onions until they are transculent.
  • Add chopped carrot, potatoe and let them fry.
  • In the meanwhile powder cinamom stick and cloves.
  • Ones the vegetables are soft add 4 cups of water and let it come to boil, add powdered cinamom & cloves, adjust salt to your taste
  • Now add suji to the boiling water by continuously stirring water with a spatula, cook by covering with a lid on top of it until water evaporates.

Here is my Upma with masala flavour, this is almost the same as our regular upma except that we added cinamom and cloves for flavour. Serve hot as it is or with any chutney, pickle or even with sugar too .......

Carrot Idly

Here am with a variation of our regular breakfast Idly with carrots....



What We Need:

Idly batter
Carrot: 1no
Jeera - 1 spn
Mustard seeds - 1 spn
Green Chillie - 1 no
Oil for tempering

How To Do:


  • Grate carrot and keep aside
  • Heat oil in a kadai for tempering add mustard seeds, jeera and fry until they splutter add finely chopped green chillies and grated carrot turnoff the heat immediately.
  • Mix well this tempering with idly batter and make it as regular idlies

Serve hot with any chutney of your taste ......

Coconut Dosa

Here i am with another variety of dosa with coconut

What We Need:

Coconut: 1cup
Rice: 2 cups
Oil:  1/2spn for making each dosa

Salt to your taste

How To Do:


  • Soak rice overnight or atleast for 4 -5 hours and wash thoroughly.
  • Grind soaked rice, coconut along with salt by adding a little water, this should be like our regular dosa batter consistency.
  • Keep it aside for atleast half an hour.
  • Heat a pan or dosa pan grease with oil pour a laddle of batter and make it as regular dosa and cook on both sides.


Serve hot with any chutney we loved to have this with carrot chutney but the little one liked this as it is ....

Rose Milk

Here i am with a cool milk with rose essence ......



What We Need:

Rose Milk Essence: 2spoons
Cool Milk - 1 glass
Sugar - to your taste

How To Do:

Blend all of them together and serve cool or hot according to your taste.


You can use either cool or hot milk according to your taste, we love to have this Cool Rose Milk and a very good choice of giving milk to kids ........

Coconut Chutney / Kobbari Pachadi

Here i am with coconut chutney, as there are many different ways in preparing this coconut chutney am giving this as version 1

What We Need:

Coconut - 1 no
Red Chillies - 6no
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 spn
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 spn
Urad dal - 1spn
Chana dal - 2spn
Garlic pods - 4no
Tamarind juice - 2spn
Oil - 1spn

Salt to your taste

How To Do :


  • Grate or make small pieces of coconut and keep aside.
  • Heat a pan with oil add mustard seeds and cumin seeds ones they splutter add urad dal, chana dal, splitted red chillies, garlic pods and fry.
  • Grind fried items to powder, now add tamarind juice, salt and coconut slightly grind by adding very little water.

You can taste this along with white rice or side dish with any dal or curd rice ......
If you want to taste along with idly or dosa or any breakfast items then you can add a little more water and grind for a smooth paste and do tadka or popu ......

Egg Fried Rice - Simple Version

Here i am with a simple egg fried rice version which can be prepared for lunch box ..........

What We Need :

Cooked or Steamed Rice - 2cups
Eggs - 2 or 3 no according to your taste
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 spn
Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1/2 spn
Urad dal - 1/2 spn(Optional)
Chana dal - 1/2 spn(Optional)
Oil - 1spn
Curry leaves / Cilantro - a few
Green Chillies - 3no
Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 spn

Salt as per your taste

How To Do :


  • Cooked or Steamed rice should be cool and keep aside. (Even u can refrigerate rice so that while mixing fried rice it wont mash)
  • In a glass beat eggs and keep aside.
  • In a fried rice pan heat oil let mustard seeds splutter add cumin seeds, urad dal, chana dal, finely chopped green chillies, curry leaves fry them add beated eggs and let it fry.
  • Add cooked rice to this fried egg add salt, garam masala powder, chopped cilantro and toss well for 2minutes.


Now your simple egg fried rice is ready to taste ........
You can add red chillie powder if you like that taste

Carrot Rice

Here am with a rice item with carrots.......



What We Need:

Carrot - 1 cup grated
Rice - 1 cup
Green Chillies - 3no
Mustard seeds - 1/2 spn
Onion - 1no
Cilantro leaves - a bunch
Cloves - 1 no
Cinamom stick - 1/2 inch
Sambar powder - 1spn
Garam masala powder - 1 pinch

Salt to your taste

How To Do:


  • Cook rice with enough water along with clove and cinamom. keep it a side.
  • In a pan heat a spn oil or ghee splutter mustard seeds, fry grenn chillies and chopped onions fry until they are transculent now add grated carrot and fry for aminute.
  • Now add sambar powder, garam masala powder, salt, cooked rice mix well.
  • Finally add chopped cilantro leaves.


Here is our healthy carrot rice is ready ........

Pineapple Juice

Here am with a cool cool pineapple juice for this summer .......



What We Need:

Pineapple cubes - 2cups
Milk - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Ice cubes - 2no

How To Do:


  • Blend all of them together to a smooth paste.
  • Can add a little more water or milk according to your taste for consistency of the juice.

Aloo Gobi / Potato Cauliflower Curry

Here i am with a mixed veg of aloo and gobi curry .........



What We Need:

Aloo - 3no
Gobi - 1 no medium size
Onion - 2 no medium size
Green Chillies - 2no
Ginger Garlic Paste - 1spn
Red Chillie Powder - 1spn
Turmeric Powder - a pinch
Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 spn
Oil - 2spn
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Cilantro - to garnish

Salt to your taste

How To Do:


  • Clean gobi florets in boiled salt water and keep aside.
  • In a pan heat oil fry chopped onions, green chillies, curry leaves until onions are transculent, add chopped cube sized aloo and let cook on a low flame with lid on top of it until aloo becomes soft add ginger garlic paste and let it fry until raw smell goes away.
  • Now add washed gobi florets, red chillie powder, salt, turmeric and toss well let it cook on low flame with lid on top of it for 2 minutes add enough water to boil for another 5minutes.
  • Add garam masala powder and let it cook for another minute and switch off heat by garnishing with cilantro.

Serve hot with white rice or any rotis.........

Chintakaya Chepala Pulusu / Fish Stew with Raw Tamarind

Here i am with fish stew ....

What We Need:

Raw Tamarind Pulp - 1 cup
Fish Pieces - 10no
Onion - 2no medium size
Kus kus - 1spn
Cloves - 4no
Cardomom - 1inch piece
Dhaniya / Corriander - 1spn
Jeera - 1/2 spn
Red Chillie Powder - 1spn can vary according to your taste
Green Chiliies - 3no
Turmeric Powder - a pinch
Oil - 3spn
Cilantro - 1 bunch

Salt as per to your taste

How To Do:


  • Boil raw tamarind in water, take out the pulp and keep aside.
  • Grind all the masalas corriander seeds, jeera, kus kus, cloves, cardomom, onions to paste.
  • Wash fish pieces and mix this masala paste, red chillie powder, salt, turmeric powder and keep aside for 5minutes.
  • In a wide pan heat oil keep lengthwise chopped green chillies and place all the fish pieces in the pan side by side let them cook on a low flame with a lid on top of it for 5 - 10 min or until the fish becomes soft.
  • Now add this tamarind pulp and 1 cup of water according to your consistency and let it cook on a low flame for another 10minutes check for seasoning.

  • Finally add chopped cilantro and serve hot with white rice........

Gajar Ka Halwa

Here i am with a sweet to celebrate this new year, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ONE AND ALL ....



What We Need:

Gajar - 4 cups grated
Sugar - 1cup
Milk - 2 cups
Elaichi Powder - 1/2spn
Kova - 50gms
Ghee - 2 spns
Cashew, Badam, Raisins, Pista of your choice

How To Do :


  • Peel the outer layer of gajar and grate, make sure that you use the large holes grater to grate gajar so that it wont mash while cooking.
  • In a wide pan heat ghee and fry the dry nuts and keep aside.
  • In the same pan add grated gajar and fry for 4minutes add milk and let cook high flame so that milk is absorbed by the gajar quickly and it wont over cooked.
  • Ones the milk is absorbed completely add sugar, let it cook finally add mashed cova and elaichi powder, fried dry nuts and let it cook for another minute.
  • If needed can add a pinch of food color also.


Can have this Gajar Ka Halwa along with Vineela Ice Creame ........
